Registration

All disaster training classes are free of charge to the participant. Please register with us no later than 3 business days prior to the start of the course by calling 207 874-1192 x103, in person in our offices, or by e-mail to rossjo@usa.redcross.org . A confirmation call, e-mail or a card will be sent to you to ensure your enrollment. Course offerings, dates and locations are subject to change based on student enrollment, availability of instructors, facilities and funding. Short breaks are scheduled roughly every 1.5 hours of training. For full day courses, participants will be given 1 hour for lunch, which is not provided.

Attendance

If you are unable to attend the class, please notify us 24 hours prior to class start. 20 minutes is themaximum possible lateness, please try to be on time. If we must cancel the class for any reason other than weather, we will make every attempt to provide you 48 hours notice. In the event of questionable weather, please call 874-1194 x304 for cancellation information starting two hours before the course.

Due to safety and health concerns, pets are not allowed. Bringing infants and small children is seldom practical, as it affects the concentration of both you and the other participants. The American Red Cross of Southern Maine wishes to provide equal training opportunities to all participants. This includes providing equal access to training facilities. Please contact us in advance at 207 874-1192 x294 or TTY 207 780-8905 if you have any special needs so that appropriate accommodations can be made.

Instructors

Instructors will be employees and volunteer disaster instructors from the Southern Maine Chapter, as well as visiting instructors from other Red Cross chapters.

Southern Maine Chapter, Portland : 2401 Congress Street , Portland , ME 04102

From the Maine Turnpike take Jetport exit (7A old and Mile 46 new). Take a left off the ramp and travel ½ mile to a traffic light at Congress St . Take a left; we are the third building on the Right, just before the Racket and Fitness Center .

Southern Maine Chapter, Biddeford Service Center : 5 Washington St , Biddeford , ME 04005

From Maine Turnpike Exit 4 Biddeford to Rt. 111. Turn Left. Stay on Rt. 111/Alfred Street until you read 5 Points. Continue straight on Alfred St./Rt. 9. In about a mile you will pass Biddeford Fire Department on your left. At the bottom of the hill before the Post Office on the left is Washington St . Turn on to Washington St . Cross over Jefferson St. and we are in the Yellow/Orange brick building on the left just before Maine Street .
